The arrival of the Five Guys Hamburger chain in FT. Lauderdale was a definite must for Gagit. Was this competition for Le Tub or Oneburger? or was this competition for Steak and Shake and Wendys? The answer was clear;Steak and Shake and a chain is just a chain no matter what they try to portray.

Hamburgers and Cheeseburgers cooked there way juicy and well done, huh, thats what they claim.All toppings free another key selling point, although this is done to hide the overcooked meat , never frozen, just overcooked.

The fries cooked nutritionaly in peanut oil, guys fries are fries and some are more greasy than others, peanut oil might be in the less greasy but not nutritionaly good for anybody.The Gagits both ordered hamburgers , Foodiechic (Mrs. Gagit) without cheese , Gagit with. I also ordered a hot dog just to rate against Hot Dog Heaven ,the #1 Hot Dog

in the area . The pictures above really show the outcome but I will give you my opinion. The hamburger/cheeseburger served wrapped in a bag and tin foil was not the way gourmet burgers are served, this is Wendys dressed up at best ,and served the same overcooked way there burgers are overcooked.I am glad we ate these right away because eaten after 5 minutes of cooked they would be completely tasteless except for the free toppings.The hot dog served the same cheap way was a good quality beef dog but reduced to a fast food item. The fries served in a bag was a nice touch but why ? serve it in a plate or tray where i can put on my malt vinegar,peanut oil might be healthier but not enoughto compensate for the bagging.

Let the Truth be Told, there still is no burger in the area close to Le Tub or Oneburger, the rest are just another copy of Steak and Shake and Wendys. Please come back to Gagit s home page next week, the Gagits are attending Rachael Rays Burger Bash ,where Le Tub will be challenged by the likes of The Burger joint at Meridien Hotel in New York,Blt Steak,Prime 112,and Radius of Boston among other great places, not Five Guys.
