Foodiechic and I , along with the Philly Kid and the Redhead  travel down Biscayne to 78th, for a Lamb Chop Throwdown. Although the  restaurant has more than Lamb Chops to offer ,especially in fresh Seafood according to some Foodie friends , tonight  though the restaurant  will only be rated against our Lamb Chop favorite, Greek Islands.A  review of Greek Islands  can be found in the South Florida section of this Blog.

We enter this cozy waterfront restaurant parking lot and  it is full, what is going on tonight, We enter the restaurant and to our surprise, Alex Fox, the great Guitarist is playing tonight, shown above. We all remember Alex from South Beach in the 90′s , and great music with his group at La Papperazzi. What a lucky choice of  nights, and we are here . We are seated and introduced to the menu by Gigi from South Philadelphia , also shown . I ask  Gigi, what is your Philadelphia name? Gennero of course, I am Italian and proud  of it he says.He gets us our drinks , Heineken for me, after reading there wine list .

Although,we are here for the Lamb Chops ,we do try the appetizer,Shrimp Saganaki, shown also, with Tomato and Basil Feta. The Shrimp  was tasty but we would have liked at least 4 shrimp for the $12.00 instead of the 3 we were served.

We are now ready for the Throwdown , three of us  had the Lamb Chops with Lemon Roasted potatoes and Spinach , shown  also. I take my first bite and the Chops are lukewarm , soft, probably just defrosted. a few Chops were more grizzle than meat but everything else was perfect, lol. The potatoes tasted like they were roasted yesterday , no lemon flavor existed. The spinach was cooked to perfection.

Let the Truth be Told, the Throw Down was no contest , Greek Islands is the Lamb Chop king, cooked, perfectly, all meat, flavorful, and with the lemon flavor I look foward to tasting. However, despite the Throw Down loss, the visit to  Anise was a nice experience .  Alex Fox was as good as ever. The service by Gigi and his lovely wife , Alex’s ex, was really as good as it gets. They really made us feel we were in their home.I am sure the Fish mains are as good as my Foodie friends  suggest, and as a  added plus , I met AB of the Miami Ski Club , who sponsored this  night and are the party animals types we look foward to joining again.
