- location-11707 Biscayne Blvd, North Miami, Fl,
- Cuisine- Yucatan Mexican ?
After eating at Che’en Huaye , not Korean lol., the Gagit’s were looking toward another authentic homemade Mexican on Biscayne Blvd, or another Taco Bell by another name.We enter Burritos on Saturday night ,hoping to find the Mexican authenticity that Che’en Huaye so consistantly serves night after night. The place is almost empty on a Saturday Night, we try to fit in the small booths and are greeted by our server who is acting that we need to eat and leave not enjoy. We both order Pacificos as we order some Queso Fundido and Guacamole and chips. In no time the Queso is served , remicrowaved in a second, no taste and little Choriza, see pic. The cheese was so dried out that I almost could not get it on the Tortilla to eat and the Choriza was missing in action. The Gaucamole was as store bought as Foodiechic gets at Cosco rather than homemade as expected.
I ordered the special of the night, Chile Rellenos with ground Beef, and Foodiechic orders the Poc-Chuc, marinated Pork in orange sauce.
The meals arrive as soon as the micro wave is ready, this is not homemade. The Poc and Chile dishes, shown above, were really missing any taste and flavor as we expected in a homemade Mexican restaurant. The Chile in fact was only one Pepper that should be at least two Chile,s for the $15.00 they charge. Quickly, the meal is over and the only thing we waited for was a check ,not cheap by Taco Bell standards.
Let the Truth be Told, if you want to go to Taco Bell go to Taco Bell and at least get fresh food at a reasonable price, if you want homemade Mexican on Biscayne Blvd, go to Che’en Huaye, even if it sounds Korean.lol

I eat at Burritos Grill Cafe all the time and know for a fact that the guacamole is fresh, I provide the Avocados to the owners, plus the cheese is not microwaved, they heat it using the heat of the fire from their huge grill. Also, it is very far from the taste of Taco Bell aka Che’en Huaye. The beans in Che’en Huaye taste like cough medicine has been poured into them and the salsa tastes like its been sitting out for days, very acidic like left out on the counter for days. The chips are stale and their chicken and steak is the blandest I have ever had. Think before you judge. If you know true genuine quality, then you wouldn’t have written this review. I have been behind the counter at Burritos and know first hand as a customer that all the food is fresh, as if made for me in my very own kitchen, a true family dinner and atmosphere. The quality and effort is there, you can taste it. I can’t live without my Tostadas or the fresh salsa and guacamole that come wiht my Fresh Crisp chips. Che’en Huaye could never top that, but they can keep trying.

Burrito Grill Café opened their doors in 1999. They are the original authentic Yucatan flavor of North Miami. The flavors jump out at your taste buds and they dance. On a Saturday, you are lucky to get a seat. Now that Burritos has moved to their new location at NE 116 and the Boulevard, there is more space for more guests. There are 8 booths and 8 tables. They are a very kid friendly place, you always feel like family. From the first hello at the door to the thank you and see you next time on the way out. My favorite desert is the Mexican banana cake with the vanilla ice cream. If you’re counting calories, leave the calculator at the door, it’s worth every one! Burritos has a pleasant ambiance when you walk thru the door, it’s a very mellow environment, not chaotic and loud like some other restaurants. Everyone I have ever recommended to try Burritos Grill Café, has continued to come back for more. What can I say, when you have great taste, you have great taste! My favorite night was Mariachi Night on Cinco de Mayo. What a band! They bring back the band occasionally on Thursdays, and it makes the night just come alive with music. Thank you Burrito’s!
