Location-933 Normandy Drive,Miami, Florida

Cuisine-Argentinean Parrillada[Steakhouse]

Gagit, Foodiechic, and the still  injured Netchic revisit the newly redocorated Las Vacas Gordas to share our memories of past dinners and toast many more in the new home of Luis, the gracious owner and host at our prime outside table. I decide to pass on wine tonight but the ladies are anxious for a glass of the house red, hold on said Foodiechic why not order a bottle, lol.We get the bottle from our server Antonio he pours the house Argentinean  Syrah Malbec with the Las Vacas Gordas label as shown. After, the first sip , Tennislady holds up the bottle and looks at the back  label, she turns it toward me and there it is ,the Gagit review on the label followed by the Zagat review which we will not discuss.

The review is their as shown  proclaiming,”If there was a category for fun, quality food, and reasonable price Las Vacas Gordas would be Numero Uno without question.Let the Truth be Told, this is not only the best Steakhouse in Miami in its category but the best in Buenos Aires. As we all read the label, I see Luis at a table nearby, we hug in mutual gratitude and he gives me a  quick tour of the State of the Art kitchen and grill, a wine room with Argentian, French ,and Italian classics, and even a state of the art restroom. Then the major restaurant still in rennovation as I go back to my table for dinner.

The dinner starts out with Luis sending over sweetbreads cooked to perfection. We all share two of their famous marinated skirt steaks, enough to even take some home. The steak marinated and grilled perfectly is a far cry from the steak in Argentina which I find only for Argentineans, see my last review of El Pobre Luis. The reason this steak is so special it is American Beef, the best country for beef..Along with the steak, we have whole  grilled peppers and onions and of course the papa frites without the garlic. We are now all full of course,no room for dessert.

However,Luis does not listen to full and sends over his flaming Dulce de Leche filled Crepe with Cinammon Ice Cream, shown above and a perfect ending , thanks to our Uraguayan host .

Let the Truth be Told again, the wine was the star tonight and Gagit et all reveled in the review on the label. However, this meal just reinforced Gagit’s original review, this is still and will ever be the Best Steakhouse in Miami, even though we now have Gotham , Manny’s,Red, Grill in the Alley and  Bourbon Steak. The list above is not even complete of steak houses at twice the price that do not offer better steak, better service, better wine  list, and of course, they do not have the charm of Luis as a host.

Rating: ★★★★☆
