Cuisine-Greek

Foodiechic and I have been really interested this new Greek restaurant in the Buena Vista area, for if it is anything like Buena Vista Bistro, with its french cuisine it would be a winner, It also, has been getting good reviews but Gagit is the judge in that area. We enter the simple restaurant with few seats in dining room and spacious back yard with many tables. We choose the backyard on this night,We are handed the Beer and wine list by our waitress who acts like she  is afraid to be a waitress. The beer is limited and so is the wine by the glass, Foodie wanted a Zin and I wanted someting different than Key West Sunset Ale,shown..We start off the night with the  Grilled Sucuk,as shown,Turkish Chorizo, with parsley and mint, neither of which I tasted with the ordinary meat. The next dish was the best dish of the night,Shrimp Ouza with Feta ,Ouzo, and Tomato as shown. The dish was good but was not  anywhere as flavorful or  as 4theloveofood,Maude made for Foodie and I.

After eating the apps,we were really not excited  about trying the mains,so we settled on sandwiches.I had the Gyro,as shown, tomatoes and cucumber-garlic yogurt, but no  onions that  I enjoy with my Gyro? The Fries  as shown were served warm as, they were already cooked when we arrived at the restaurant. Foodi ordered the Lamb sandwich as shown, along with the reheated Fries. The sandwich was very dry and really not one to want to return to order again.

Let the Truth be Told, the anticipation of  trying Mandolin  was really high, the reality of food, service, and drinks were rather dissapointing. Even the enjoyment of eating outside was dulled by the wicker lamps on the table that added the flavor of lighter fluid to the table and food. The atmosphere was great but the food was very ordinary. In fact, I might be to critical but after sampling Maude’s treats , I can only recommend that if you want better quality Greek Food than Mandolin , call Maude,
