This is a review of the third visit of the Gagit’s and friends and on this third visit we really are becoming fans not only for the food, service, but for the atmosphere of the outdoor courtyard which makes dining here even better. We arrive here for our reservation and as I am the early one , I walk inside and am greeted by the ravishing Polly, who saved the night on my first visit here , see previous review for her picture. The rest of the group arrive and we are seated in the couryard and greeted by our waiter Samhai. The Sam part is from Venezuela and the Hai from Lebanon, a perfect mix for a server at Michael’s.
We sit down order cocktails, Patron chilled for Foodiechic and myself and Pino Grigio for our friends at the same time we order our starters. The drinks and starters arrive together , the crispy and sweet and spicy Pork Belly ,kimchi ,peanuts, and peashoots, this is a dynamite dish along with a separate order of Kimchi, again a real tasty winner.Along with this dish we had a special of spicy pork sausage with pablano pepper with slaw, see picture, and it was as good as it looks. We now order our mains , too many choices but with Samhai’s help we make our choices.
Pictures of all the mains are shown above and they are almost all perfect. Foodiechic has the braised Harris Ranch Shortribs, whipped parsnip, and toasted almond salad. I order theDuck Confit, cauliflower mash, wilted beans, and peach mango Chutney. Wow this is a true winner the duck was cooked to perfection and the rest perfect companions. The Philly Kid , usually conservative, gobbled down the Beef Cheeks with whipped celeriac, celery salad and a chocolate reduction sauce, and the lovely Redhead had the wood grilled Onion, stuffed with lamb and apricots. The dish was tasty but the onion was under grilled . Samhai now comes to the table and clears the empty plates even the onion.
Dessert , yes, and tonight it is the house special Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana “Split”with dulce de leche, fleur de sel, peanut Brittle, sweet condensed milk and vanilla ice cream .This is the Hedy Goldsmith special and even though I fought not to have a forkful I did and I am glad I did.
Let the Truth be Told, Michael’s is not perfect but for the Miami food experience there is no better. The only thing I regret is that there is no other chef in Miami ,male or female that can create Bistro food like Michael and that is the Truth.

This place is a winner! The food and service are top notch. We loved sausage and pork belly. Everyone shared the small plates and we ordered a few dinners, and shared them too. We didn’t love the short ribs, I think they over did the sauce.
My boss told me to check out Gatit before we go out. Glad I did!
