Location-Intercoastal Waterway N.E. 163th, N. Miami Beach

Cuisine- Italian ? ? ?

Gagit and Foodiechic have to check this out , a new Italian Restaurant at the Intercoastal, rave reviews from the critics, we shall  decide. We pull up in front they have Valet parking but parking lot is empty , no thanks for Valet. We enter the restaurant through the so called Italian  Food Shop and ask for an outside table on the Intercoastal ,we pass by the open kitchen with the Chefs lined up like Sabbaro,, could this be there food standards ? We get on the patio ,a little too warm tonight, go the bar ,ask for happy hour , yes everynight 5 to 7 with appetizers, glad we asked, I guess they have a no tell policy. We sit at a nice open table near the bar that is happy hour qualified,

We are greeted by our bar server Kristine, decked out in a black bustier as are the the other bar servers, including Tatiana, above. wow, this is happy hour.We order the house vodka for Dirty.s straight up $6.00, it is a full pour and we toast the lovely night , and begin the tasting. We are served a sample appetizer of Portabello Frita, shown, and it is nasty ,even for free. The next round and we get there famous, original baked wings lol, above these have a lemon sauce , Oregano,Scallion and Pecorino. They are not only cold but tasteless. A order of wings are $11.00 , I suggest you bring your own from Anthony’s. Kristine reported the wing disaster to the chef and he sent over some Calamari.as shown. ,another cold dish with batter to greasy to taste the squid.

Happy Hour is now over and we order the Meatball as we listen to the piped in Music  of the Ratpack favorites and flat screens with gangster flicks both a Martarano original .This is relaxing until the music is turned up so it can be heard at Martarano, lots of complaints and they turn it down . The Meatball arrives as shown,it is an original Steve M. copy even down to the Whipped Impasta. The gravy it is served  as tasteless as possible so the meatball’s salt flavor comes right through to ruin the taste. They shoud have bought Steve,s sauce to hide the salty meatball .One more appetizer , Clams Oreganato. spices and bread crumbs but the smallest clam’s I have ever seen, see dish  above ,and judge for yourself.

The main now arrives and this dish is a perfect copy of the Sabbaro special ,also shown, but instead of $6.50 it is $21.00. the sausage is as small as the clams, the meatball now is all filling no meat, and the pasta sauce as tasteless as I have ever been served in a so called Italian Resuarant. We choose not to even have coffee here since they turned up the music volume and the customers were now all ready to leave.

Let the Truth be Told, this restaurant by a Pizza man from Boca who took the best dishes and flavor of many successfull restaurants in the area and turned it into the worse of all.It is a great location and I look foward to the next restaurant in this spot as Rack will join the list of Boca  restaurants who come to the Aventura for the money but find out food quality and fair price are the key to success , not gimmick. It will be a long summer at Rack’s and if you want bad Italian you dot have to go to Sabbaoro you can also go to Racks,

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆The only point is for the server Kristine and her good work.

I have tried this place twice, I thought the first time was bad but they had newly opened. Now the second time, …. I thought the food is just average.
