- Location-Airport #40 Airport Road,Simpson Bay, St. Maarten, Netherlands, Antiles
- Cuisine- Mexican and Columbian Food
Gagit has a chance to out Tony , Tony in this local St. Maarten shack.Gagit is back in St. Maarten looking for a new find of local cuisine and he does it at Taco Macho.I find Taco Macho by looking up out of the airport and seeing the Taco Macho billboard as shown above. I pull in front and take three steps into the open covered kitchen, lol, also shown above. The menu is on the wall, Soups, Tacos, Burritos,Quesidillas, and the Columbian Patacon, banana leaves stuffed with choices of Beef, Shrimp, Vegetables, and Chicken, along with assorted meat dishes. It is lunch and since it it warm out ,I pass on the Sancacho,a little bit of everything soup, one of my Columbian favorites.I do order a couple of Burritos and look to give Tony my rating.
First of all,the combination of the Mexican husband and the Colombian wife the chef , a perfect combination for this local food.I order the Burritos, both the Beef and the Shrimp, all shown above. The Beef is served first , chock full of shredded beef, cheese, and lettuce wrapped in a freshly made Tortilla. The Tortilla was perfect, the meat a little dry, I used some semi hot sauce to bring it to life but it still was to dry for my taste. The shrimp Burrito came next and it was perfection, moist inside chock full of shrimp, cheese, and lettuce in a white sauce wrapped in the fresh, hot Tortilla ,no hot sauce needed here.
Let the Truth be Told Tony , on your next trip give Taco Macho a try, but go on Tuesday and try the Sancocho along with a Shrimp Taco, Burrito, Quesidilla, or Patacon and you will have a hard time realizing you are not in Mexico orColumbia, but St. Maarten.

Hey Gagit!
I and my husband just ate at Taco Macho for the first time in November. We’ve passed that place so many times, but never were “brave” enough. This time, there were so many people coming in and out, we figured, “why not?” The place is great! I also wrote about it (my link above) if you want to read about our experience (& observations!). We’ll definitely go back next time – I just wish they had some regular salsas (but even though I don’t really care for chipotle, I couldn’t seem to have enough of it!). Thanks for your take on these places! Not everyone writes about the smaller ones… Cheers! Kathy
